Report An Excused Absence/Tardy Through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal

There is a new, convenient way for families to request an excused absence through their Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Families with multiple children who will be absent, including students at different schools within the MMSD, can use the feature that allows families to select and request absences for multiple students at one time.

Entering an absence request is quick and easy, and can be done using the online portal or the "Campus Parent" app on a mobile device. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.

  2. Select More from the Navigation area.

  3. Select Absence Requests.

  4. Fill in the required information, including the date and reason for the absence.

  5. Submit your request.

Report An Excused Absence/Tardy By Emailing The Neighborhood Office Secretary

Students can be reported absent by emailing the student's Neighborhood Office Secretary.  Please include the student's first and last name, ID #, the date and time of the absence, and the relationship to the student of the person reporting the absence.

Report An Excused Absence/Tardy By Calling The School Office

Students can be reported absent by calling the Attendance Line or the student's Neighborhood Office.  Please include the student's first and last name, ID #, the date and time of the absence, and the relationship to the student of the person reporting the absence.

Acceptable Reasons for Excused Absences/Tardies

  • Illness of student or immediate family member
  • Observance of a Religious Holiday
  • Bereavement due to death in the immediate family
  • A student’s dental, doctor, chiropractor, psychologist or other medical appointment that cannot be scheduled outside of the school day
  • Inclement weather
  • Serving as an elected official
  • Inclement Weather (when an advisory is in effect for our area)

There is a maximum of 10 days allowed as excused Pre-Approved Planned Absences for the entire school year.
