2020-2021 ENROLLMENT FOR CURRENT/RETURNING STUDENTS
COMPLETE ONLINE ENROLLMENT (Beginning August 10th, 2020)
Locate your Infinite Campus username and password to access the online enrollment system. Visit mmsd.org/lostpassword to fill out a form to receive an email with your username and/or password if you don't have it. Fill out the yearly enrollment information and pay fees online by visiting mmsd.org/enroll.
Virtual Enrollment Support
Staff will be available to support students and families virtually (over the phone and with video meetings through Zoom) with the enrollment process on:
- Monday, August 17th, 2020: 11:00am - 6:00pm
- Tuesday, August 18th, 2020: 7:30am - 1:00pm
For support, call 608-204-1603 during these times. Staff will set up a Zoom meeting if necessary.
As in previous years, student fees will be collected during enrollment. The District believes these fees are best to collect now, but will be prepared to offer refunds depending on how the rest of the school year plays out. Fees may be paid online with a credit card at any time without a service fee or by mailing a check to East’s Main Office (2222 East Washington Avenue, Madison, WI, 53704). The District sends out monthly invoices for all fees owed once school begins. Waivers can be requested for some fees.
$35. This is a required Board of Education fee that is part of the District budget designated for textbooks.
$17. This is a required Board of Education fee that is part of the District budget designated for classroom supplies.
$30. This is a required Board of Education fee that is part of the District budget designated to cover co-curricular District costs, i.e. materials and staff time not supported by club activities, anything non-athletic. All students can participate in any activity.
$5. Optional fee. A planner is recommended for all 9th grade students and AVID students. Planners are used as a learning tool to keep students organized.
$50. Optional fee. Yearbooks can be purchased online with other enrollment fees and can also be purchased later.
Art course fees will be charged for first semester. The art department staff will work on getting kits to students. This process is not yet finalized. Physical Education, Family and Consumer Education, and Technology courses will NOT be charged for first semester. Second semester course fees will be added in January 2021. Fall athletic fees will not be charged at this time.
PHOTO IDS AND LIFETOUCH PORTRAITS
LifeTouch portrait events at all MMSD schools have been cancelled through October 30th and will be rescheduled when in person school resumes. Until that time students can continue to use last school year's student ID.
Students should use the same Chromebook they used last school year. The District will be replacing Chromebooks in waves.
MMSD Chromebook Exchange Schedule (only includes 9th Grade East Students at this time but is continually updated)
MMSD Single Sign-On (beginning August 17th, students will need to use their 6 digit MMSD student ID# as their account username, and their current MMSD account password versus using their email address in previous school years)
Schedules will be viewable beginning August 24th in Infinite Campus and through the "Campus Parent" and "Campus Student" app on mobile devices. Schedule change request information can be found here. The daily schedule can be found at east.mmsd.org/schedule.
High schools do not have specific school supply lists. Supplies will vary based on individual courses. Teachers will inform students of specific needs during the first week of school. Materials distribution will happen August 28th-September 3rd.
SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
MMSD will be offering curbside meal service at 40 school sites starting the week of September 8, 2020. Each site will have pickup one day per week for family convenience. Students will receive a meal box with all of the components for 5 balanced breakfast and lunch meals that meet the requirements for the National School Lunch & Breakfast Programs.
Pickup times and locations are being finalized and will be shared soon.
Each 5 day box is about 12"X 9"X 9" in size and weighs just under 10 pounds.
Milk will be available as an option.
A pre order button and instructions on how to order will be available on our website as the start of school approaches.
Students or parents will need to provide the student name and student ID number at the time of pickup.
Full pay and reduced eligible students should have funds in their account to cover the cost of the meal pickup. The account will be charged at the time of pickup.
Please remember to apply for free & reduced meal benefits during enrollment this year. Families need to apply each school year.
