MMSD Students: Free Summer Bus Passes Are Back!
MMSD and the City of Madison Metro Transit are partnering again to provide all students in grades 6 through 12, including recent high school graduates, access to the Metro Bus for free during the summer.
This year, students who already have a Metro bus pass will be able to continue to use this same pass during the summer, with no extra steps needed.
New for 2025: if a student doesn't already have an existing pass, the Summer Youth Pass will be available virtually through the Metro Transit Fast Fare mobile app, making it easier than ever for students to ride with just a scan from their phone.
To get started, students can email mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com from their school email address (ending in @madison.k12.wi.us) with the subject line: Summer Youth Pass.
Physical bus passes will still be available as needed. Students can reach out to their school secretary before June 4. After that, physical passes will be available at the student’s Feeder HS during summer school.
