Learning Progress

Learning Progress

As part of our commitment to clear, ongoing communication about student's academic growth, we are introducing a new reporting category in all core and elective classes this school year: Learning Progress.

What is Learning Progress?

The Learning Progress category communicates student engagement in practice work and their ongoing progress toward mastering course skills.

This shift supports students in taking active ownership of their learning. By reviewing regular updates, students learn to reflect on their learning habits, identify strengths and growth areas, and take proactive steps before major summative assessments occur.

Bi-Weekly Progress Indicators

Every two weeks, teachers will update this category using one of three indicators:

  • Adequate Progress [AP]: Your child is progressing as expected toward meeting standards within core skills.
  • Minimal Progress with Core Skills [MP]: Your child needs additional practice to meet standards within core skills.  Next step: They should meet with their teacher to review feedback and plan practice steps.
  • No Progress due to Insufficient Evidence [NP]: Your child needs to submit missing practice work or assessments so we can evaluate their learning. Next step: They should check in with their teacher to confirm what evidence is needed.

Viewing Learning Progress in Infinite Campus

You can view these updates in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal under the Learning Progress section for each course.

Please note: The most recent entry shows your child's current progress status. Because Learning Progress reflects low-stakes practice and engagement feedback, it acts as a progress tracker and is not calculated into your child's final course letter grade or GPA.

Learning Progress indicators will, however, be utilized to review athletic and co-curricular eligibility during active seasons. If a student-athlete receives an MP or NP, they will have a one-week grace period to work with their instructor and improve their standing. Additional guidelines will be shared directly by the Athletics Department.
