NEW & IMPORTANT!

As of 2015 WI Act 55 requires that all students graduating from a Wisconsin high school (starting with the class of 2017) take "a civics test comprised of 100 questions that are identical to the 100 questions that may be asked of an individual during the process of applying for U.S. citizenship by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and the pupil correctly answers at least 60 of those questions." (Section 3266R, 118.33(1m)(a)1.)

East students will be given the opportunity to prepare and take this test when they take Modern US History in 11th grade.  Students that do not take or do not pass this test after they have taken Modern US History should pay attention to additional opportunities to take or retake the test and/or contact a Modern US History teacher.

More information about this test and preparing for it can be found at https://assessment.madison.k12.wi.us/civics-test-information and http://dpi.wi.gov/social-studies/civics
