February 2021 Senior Survey

Seniors, please take this short survey.

FAFSA Support (En español)

Do you have questions on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? The FAFSA is the form a student needs to complete to apply for financial aid, such as grants and loans.

Reps from Madison College's Financial Aid Office will hold 2 free sessions to assist students and families with this important step for students interested in attending college in the Fall.

Register here and contact Dulce Danel at dduribe@madisoncollege.edu or 608-616-3578 if you have any questions.

College Goal Wisconsin will provide free assistance on completing the FAFSA during these upcoming workshops:

  • Thursday, March 4th at 11:30am. Registration opens on February 24th, at noon.
  • Thursday, April 15th at 6:00pm. Registration opens on April 6th, at noon.

Register here and view the flyer for more information.

Students should attend with a parent or guardian if possible and bring specific materials necessary to complete the FAFSA. If parents are unable to attend, students may attend alone and bring these materials. Independent students should bring their own income and asset information.

Upward Bound, an East community program partner, created this Next Steps video for Seniors who have completed the FAFSA.

Graduation Ceremony

As we continue to navigate through this pandemic, we wanted to share with you that MMSD has not made a decision yet regarding our high school graduation ceremonies in June. The district is exploring multiple options, both in-person and virtual, so that we can be prepared to honor our graduating seniors in the safest way possible. It is our hope that we can have that decision made soon, and we will share that with you as soon as we are able.

Graduation Apparel/Attire (En español)

Midwest Scholastic has opened the ordering window for caps, gowns, tassels, stoles, and other graduation supplies through February 26th.

We know that this pandemic has created significant financial hardships for some of our students and their families. That is why, for this year’s graduating class, MMSD will cover the cost of cap/gown/tassel/stole units for graduating seniors. If you would like to contribute to your school's graduation fund to help cover the cost, please complete this form.

  1. Go to mwscholastic.com/mmsd
  2. Click on the cap and gown image at the top of that page
  3. Fill out student height and weight (Gowns are made to the dimensions you provide.  Please make sure this is accurate.)
  4. Click: add to cart, then view cart, then checkout
  5. Fill in all fields on the checkout page. You must fill in the student name and school attending (bottom of checkout)
  6. Click continue, click place order

Order additional graduation apparel/products:

If you are interested in ordering any other graduation supplies, such as senior apparel, class rings, official school announcements, or party invitations, those items are available on on the Midwest Scholastic website. Here is more information on those offerings: https://www.mwscholastic.com/2021-grad-info-video. Please be aware that no refunds will be issued for any of these items.

Delivery/Pick-Up

A delivery day for the caps, gowns, tassels and stoles, and class announcements, will happen at East closer to graduation in the spring so Seniors can come pick up their items. Other graduation apparel like hoodies, joggers, long sleeve shirts and sling bags, will be delivered to your home within 2-4 weeks. You will receive an email from Midwest Scholastic prior to that delivery.

Questions

All questions regarding cap/gown/tassel/stoles and other graduation products should go directly to Midwest Scholastic at questions@mwscholastic.com or 608-437-7323.
