Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) invites you to learn more about the Youth Apprenticeship Program, an option available to students during their junior and senior year of high school. The Youth Apprenticeship Program combines technical classroom instruction with work-based learning. While participating in the program, students take high school academic courses to meet graduation requirements and work in a job related to their Youth Apprenticeship Program area. Students are supervised in their work experience by an employer and a school representative to facilitate learning both inside and outside the classroom. Each of the following Youth Apprenticeship Program areas require a one- or two-year commitment to courses and work experience outside the regular school hours: Construction, Finance, Health Science, Hospitality & Tourism, Information Technology, Marketing, Manufacturing, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics. An informational meeting will take place at East High School on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in Room 1041c. During this meeting, we will provide an overview of the program areas listed above; discuss the application and selection process, program guidelines, college credit opportunities; and answer questions pertaining to the program. Students are strongly encouraged to attend with their families. Contact Amy Isensee with questions.
